Who we are

L.E.G.O. was founded by Pietro Olivotto as a craft workshop in 1900 and from these humble beginnings has grown into one of the leading producers of high quality books. By combining their rich heritage with modern production techniques L.E.G.O. produces over 100 million copies of books per year for publishing clients throughout the world while always maintaining the very highest production standards.
Today, notwithstanding its development and size, the company preserves its fundamental character of a privately owned family-run business and its greatest merit has been the foresight to adapt and develop to an ever changing market. One of the key strengths of the company is the range of books it can produce: both in colour and mono, the books include children’s, technical manuals, dictionaries, thin paper bibles right up to high end art and photography books.
Book production remains a skilled operation and it’s the skills of the workforce that are much valued to this day to ensure books are produced to the very highest standards. A book needs to be the perfect combination of content and container. A good book will capture the reader’s attention and will fire their emotions. A beautiful book will be a pleasure to look at, to leaf through, and to touch. Hence, the company’s mission is to meet the clients’ needs at all levels by producing beautiful books. One hundred years of experience is the warranty given by L.E.G.O. to its customers.
Holding Olivotto S.p.A. is the 100% owner of L.E.G.O. S.p.A. and it is also a shareholder of an important Indian printing company called Manipal Technologies.
L.E.G.O. plants are in Vicenza, Marano Vicentino, Lavis (Trento) and it has representative offices in all major EU countries, UK, U.S.A. and Russia.
